This is the XBee XB24-Z7WIT-004 module from Digi. Series 2 improves on the power output and data protocol. Series 2 modules allow you to create complex mesh networks based on the XBee ZB ZigBee mesh firmware. These modules allow a very reliable and simple communication between microcontrollers, computers, systems, really anything with a serial port! Point to point and multi-point networks are supported.
These are essentially the same hardware as the older Series 2.5, but have updated firmware. They will work with Series 2.5 modules if you update the firmware through X-CTU.
Note:
Series 1 and Series 2 XBee modules have the same pin-out. However, Series 1 modules cannot communicate with Series 2 modules.

Introduction
XBee 802.15.4 OEM RF module is used for embedded solutions providing wireless end-point connectivity to devices. This is an ideal module for robots to PC or robots to robots communication. This module can give range of 30 meters indoor or 100 meters outdoor. This XBee wireless device can be directly connected to the serial port (at 3.3V level) of your microcontroller. By using a logic level translator it can also be interfaced to 5V logic (TTL) devices having serial interface. This module supports data rates of up to 115kbps. It has indoor range of 30 meters and outdoor RF line-of-sight range of up to 100 meters. These modules use the IEEE 802.15.4 networking protocol for fast point-to-multipoint or peer-to-peer networking. They are designed for high-throughput applications requiring low latency and predictable communication timing. Products NR-RF-02 and NR-RF-05 are identical in all aspects. Only difference is that NR-RF-02 has chip antenna while NR-RF-05 has wire antenna.

Xbee USB wireless adaptor board is used for interfacing any of the series 1 Xbee wireless modules with the PC. Using this USB adaptor board for Xbee wireless modules you can communicate between PC to PC, PC to robot / embedded board with ease. You can also use this module to change configuration of the Xbee devices using PC via USB port using XCTU software from Digi.
On the PC side this device is treated as the Communication Device Class (CDC) of USB family and it allows the user to treat USB port as a normal serial port (Virtual COM port).
Xbee USB wireless adaptor board has five indicator LEDs which shows power, status of the data being transmitted or received, signal strength of the data reception and the association.
Although it can support any Xbee module having similar pin configuration .

XBee Module Adaptor Board

Introduction
Xbee adaptor board is used for interfacing Xbee wireless module on any prototyping board with ease. It has onboard 3.3V low drop voltage regulator and LED indicators for RSSI, Associate and Power. Connections to all pins of the Xbee wireless module are available using 2x10 0.1inch (2.54mm) pitch berg connectors in the same order as of the Xbee wireless module. It can be directly mounted on the general purpose PCB board.
Note:
Xbee adaptor board comes without Xbee wireless module. You need to buy Xbee wireless module separately.
