The analog port will be used as the digital which will not occupy the original digital port of the Arduino. The lines of the sensor can transform the analogue function to digital that can be used on a digital port.
Every sensor of this model is temperature compensated and calibrated in an accurate calibration chamber and the calibration-coefficient is saved in the type of program in OTP memory, when the sensor is detecting, it'll cite coefficient from memory. Small size & low consumption & long transmission distance(20m) enable DHT22 to be suited in all kinds of harsh application occasions. Simply connect the first pin on the left to 3-5V power, the second pin to your data input pin and the rightmost pin to ground. Although it uses a single-wire to send data it's not Dallas One Wire compatible! If you would like multiple sensors, all must have its own data pin!
